The Cowldana isn’t a regular cowl or bandana. It is a combination of both. I wanted something that would sit nicely in the gap at the top of my coat, but wouldn’t choke me to death. I also wanted to add a bit of patterning without going for anything too flashy. I decided a nice little flash of color in stripes that change direction at the front was in order.

The directions are written out line by line and a chart for the color-work is included. I would consider this a great first striping/color-work project. It isn’t too hard to read the knitting and also results in something that can be useful for both men and women depending on the colors used. You can easily adjust the size by adding or subtracting 4 stitches on the sides. Make sure to do the slip stitches loosely to avoid puckering.
