Crevetten vit by Annika Malmstrom-Bladini

Crevetten vit

Crevetten Vit was originally designed by Annika Malmström-Bladin for Bohus Stickningi in 1956 and was recreated by Pernille Silfverberg in 2020. There is also a Crevetten Rosa which has not yet been recreated; it was knit with an alternative shrimp shell (peach) colored background.

The knitting kit for Crevetten White has been developed from original patterns and models in museum collections. The pattern is recreated as pullover and cardigan with round yoke, hat, and tam.

American singer and actress Eartha Kitt was photographed wearing Crevetten Rosa as pullover during her visit to Stockholm in the 1960s.

Crevetten White is knitted in an angora yarn spun from 50% hand-sheared angora wool from our own angora rabbits and 50% New Zealand merino wool. The pattern yarns are dyed after the original yarns. The bottom is knitted in natural white angora yarn.

The kit contains enough yarn to knit a Pullover with circular yoke in sizes up to the largest size XL. The garment is worked from the top down on 2.5 mm circular needles for the pattern and stocking stitch and 2.0 mm circular needles for the rib.
