Cuthbert is a bright rainbow caterpillar who will brighten up any room. Knitted in garter stitch and with simple increases and decreases, this is an ideal pattern for beginner knitters who are new to making toys.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the caterpillar is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Stylecraft Special DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/295m skein in each colour

NOTIONS
A darning or tapestry needle for seaming
Toy filling

TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, work a kfb increase and k2tog decrease, and seaming to finish.
