Cynnes Hat and Cowl was designed by me especially for Cartref Yarn. The samples in the picture each use one skein of Cartref Yarn “Naturiol”.

“Cynnes” is the Welsh for “warm” and you will certainly be warm if you wrap up in this hat and cowl before you go out in the winter! Knitted in the recommended Cartref Yarn, the nature of the stitch pattern makes for a sturdy but well-fitting set. The cabled stitches add visual interest as well as an interruption to knitting purely in rib.

One size: but both items are stretchy and so very forgiving!

Materials
• Approximately 150g Cartref DK yarn (205m/225 yds per 100g) for both items – I used 60g for the hat and 90g for the cowl.
• 4mm/US 8 needles (or size needed to get gauge), double pointed needles or a long (80cm recommended) circular to knit magic loop.
• A removeable marker to mark the start of rnd (optional).

Gauge: Gauge in stocking stitch is 20 sts and 28 rows to 10cm.

The simple cable motif is both written and charted.
