Daisy chains are very pretty while they last, but that is generally only as long as the sunny summer lazing. As soon as any sort of exertion is made, the delicate chains tend to break. This necklace is therefore a more lasting reminder of those ephemeral, sun kissed days. Knitted in light, lustrous silk, the chain retains some of a real daisy’s delicacy but without the wilting! The flowers are a very simple pattern and so the necklace is easy to adapt by experimenting with different yarns, buttons and even the size of the flowers to vary the look and drape of the chain. You can also make a loose bunch into a brooch or corsage by attaching them by sewing from the back.
the only crocheted part is the chain holding the flowers together, so if you are not an avid crocheter, you can use an i-cord or ribbon instead.
