Fans of Downton Abbey’s amazing fashions, rejoice!

Just in time for holiday gift-knitting, A Head For Trouble: What To Knit While Catching Crooks, Chasing Clues, and Solving Murders (20 Hats & Adornments Inspired by Lady Detectives of the Roaring Twenties) was released in October, 2014. It is available in both electronic and paperback format here and on my website: www.julieturjoman.com

Knit something special for your inner flapper!

The Hon. Daisy Dalrymple - down on her luck financially, but never downtrodden - stars in a charming mystery series created by author Carola Dunn. Her warm manner invites confidences, often from complete strangers. In fact, her instincts about people are seldom wrong, and her keen observation skills can overturn even a seemingly ironclad alibi.

The Jazz Age-inspired Daisy Cloche, with its pleated rolled brim and simple but effective textured stitch, sits snugly on the wearer’s head for warmth as well as style. It is worked in one piece, in the round, from the bottom up to the crown. Beaded leaf embellishments are appliquéd onto the rise of the cloche after blocking, and the finishing touch is a large decorative button or brooch.
