Worked from the bottom up seamlessly up to the armholes. The body is then divided into front and back and finished by working flat with. The collar is added once the neckline and shoulder shaping have been completed.

  • Finished chest circumference 31 (34½, 38¼, 41¾, 45½, 49, 52¾) in / 78.5 (87.5, 97, 106, 115.5, 124.5, 134) cm chest circumference. Vest shown measures 34½ in / 87.5 cm, worn with 2 in / 5cm of ease.

  • Yarn Sublime Egyptian cotton DK (100% cotton; 115 yd / 105 m / 50 g): #329; 6 (7, 8, 9, 9, 10, 11) balls. Substitute with approximately 690 (760, 840, 920, 1000, 1080, 1160) yds / 630 (700, 770, 840, 920, 990, 1060) m of DK weight yarn with the following knitting gauge.

  • Gauge 22 sts and 28 rnds = 4” in St st and in Checkered stitch pattern. Adjust needle size if necessary to get the correct gauge.

  • Needles and notions Size 4mm (US6) circular needles, 30-40 in / 80-100 cm long for body. Size 4mm (US6) circular needles, 16 in / 40 cm long for collar. Stitch markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle.
