This cowl is knit from two handspun sportweight 2-ply yarns, one of which is an undyed mixed BFL wool top, and the other of which is a spectrum-dyed mixed BFL wool top. It is lined with a slightly lighter 2-ply angora/silk (50/50) blended roving. The handpainted roving was split and spun to maintain long color runs to mimic changing colors of a traditional fair-isle colorwork project.

You will need about 150 yards for the exterior, and about 120 yards for the lining. Gauge is not crucial for this project, but may alter the amount of yardage needed to complete it as written.

The original fiber for the exterior (the mixed BFL roving) can still be purchased as a kit through FatCatKnits.
