This lovely hand dyed yarn beautifully captures the colours of the northern lights dancing against a dark sky. With a simple combination of garter stitch and yarn overs these pretty colours get to dance across the dark background of this easy crescent-shaped shawl. It is worked from the top down with only knit stitches, yarn overs, and increase stitches, making it a quick and easy project.

Hilori’s Magical Yarnorium Cross Country Canada Road Trip KAL is stopping in the Northwest Territories this fall. Join in the fun by knitting this beautiful shawl in celebration of Canada’s north.

The Dancing Skies Shawl and Lichen, Berries and Moss were both designed for this portion of the KAL. Find out more here: XCC Road Trip KAL.

The Sky’s Awake is a limited edition colourway of Hilori’s Magical Yarnorium Meri Jane. Purchase at hilorismagicalyarnorium.com. This pattern uses one skein. IMPORTANT NOTE: the pattern uses all 407 yards of yarn. If you’re not knitting at the same gauge or think you might need more yarn it’s a good idea to have a second skein on hand.
