Some fancy socks for all your dancing-around-the-house needs. This is less a line-by-line pattern and more of a recipe. It assumes some sock knitting experience, but if you are tenacious and willing to look up a few techniques, I see no reason why a beginner couldn’t

tackle these. The instructions follow my preferences for sock knitting. You could easily substitute other methods (DPNs for Magic Loop, a short row heel instead of the Fish Lips Kiss heel, Jenny’s Super Stretchy Bind-off instead of the sewn bind-off, etc.) if that’s what works for you.

Since the lace pattern is very contained, these would be easy to re-size as well. Simply increase the toe to your desired size, then situate the lace pattern on the last 12 stitches of the top of the foot for the right sock and on the first 12 of the left.

A semi-companion piece to my Viva La Vida scarf, because I am still not over that song.

Materials:

  • 300-400yds. fingering weight yarn

  • US 1 (2.25mm) 36” circular needle for Magic Loop, or DPNS if you prefer

  • tapestry needle

  • stitch markers
