Love Letter started when a new LYS opened up in my town and I had to go check them out. The end result is a shallow, gently curved triangular shawlette. It is simple enough for a beginner to tackle, and is easily adapted to suit the maker’s needs. Prefer different increases? Switch them out for your favorites. Want larger or smaller stripes, or more stripes in general? Easy, just add or subtract rows to the body section. It’s also a good choice for using up leftover bits of yarn from other projects, as the total yardage for each color is minimal.

Worked from the top down with a garter tab beginning, the shawl increases at the edges on both right and wrong side rows to create a slightly curved top edge. The main color can be carried up the side when not in use. The contrast color should be cut between sections to prevent puckering.

Finished measurements: 52.5” wingspan x 20” depth at point after blocking
