This knitting pattern can help you create a beautiful sweater dress, like the ones pictured here. The fair isle bodice of the dress is knitted first, and then the skirt is picked up and knitted down to the ribbed hem. This pattern is a miniaturized version of a sweater dress I saw on Gap Kids.

The dress may fit a variety of 14 inch dolls, but is specifically fitted to Helen Kish’s 14” Chrysalis dolls like Lark, Song, Piper, and Wren. The dress is partially opened in back for ease of dressing.

Instructions are included to use the steeking method, or to separate for the sleeves. This pattern is for advanced knitters.

Supplies
* Lightweight fingering yarn--I used “Palette”
or “Stroll” , available from www.knitpicks.com.

  • Knitting Needles sized 000 and 0 (1.5 & 2 mm)
  • 4 place markers
  • optional button closure (2 miniature buttons)
  • crochet hook for button loops

Gauge
* With size 0 needles in stockinette stitch, 20 stitches & 26-27 rows in a 2 x 2 inch (5.1 cm) square.

User “Iressa” note: Great pattern for Kish’s 14” Chrysalis Dolls. Also works for YoSD-sized Ball-Jointed Dolls when made with 1,50mm needles.
