I designed this hat when my youngest son was a baby. The idea was to have a hat that would stay on his head and keep his ears warm. I’ve knit quite a few of these hats and no two are the same. With flaps? Without? Solid? Striped? Colorblock? It really is the dealer’s (or knitter’s) choice! This pattern has sizes ranging from baby to adult. It knits up super fast so make one for every cold head you know!

Sizes: newborn (12” - 14”) to XL (20’ - 22’)

Fit: This pattern is designed to be worn with 1-2 inches of negative ease. So the largest size should fit a head circumference of up to 24 inches. Adjustments to make it larger are easily made within the pattern.

Yarn: Worsted Weight ~60 yds for smallest size - ~110 yds depending on what yarn combinations you choose. As an example you could knit 2 adult sized hats with 1 ball of Cascade 220.
