Defiant is defined as being marked by resistance or bold opposition; challenging. Be defiant; challenge the traditional “rules” of color; be bold, be YOU!

This sweater is written for fingering weight yarn, held double, but you can easily substitute worsted or Aran weight, as long as you get gauge. The yardage required would then be half as much as with fingering.

Defiant is knit in a 5-color gradient, using 3 colors held double in different combinations to range from a subtle color change at the top to a bold and vibrant change at the bottom. There is also an easy calculation included in the directions to adapt the pattern to use any number of gradients and stripes, or knit it all in one beautiful color!

Sized in 4” increments from 30” to 50” bust, it is an easy-to-knit and easy-to-wear garment that is flattering on many body shapes. It is shown in size 38” worn with 4” of positive ease (I usually wear a 34, but wanted this to feel big and cozy).
