In celebration of Jillian Moreno’s new book Yarnitecture here is a free pattern!!! Denizen Poncho uses both knitting and crochet stitches just like my project “Sweet Omega” in Yarnitecture. Denizen is an asymmetrical poncho with a lace panel flanked by sideways knitted stockinette panels and finished with crochet. It’s a perfect project for the same weight handspun that I spun for Sweet Omega.

I originally designed Denizen (see project here) with Malabrigo Rueca handspun (sadly discontinued). I liked it so much I knit it again in Malabrigo Merino Worsted shown here.

Included in this pattern are full color photo, beautiful charts and detailed written instructions including written instructions to crochet with knitting needles for those of you who are allergic to hooks.

Errata: (fixed in newest version published 09/17/16)
When you complete the lace panel, please bind off all stitches.
