This pattern is a simple stranded child’s hat knit in only 2 colors. It is a good way to use up yarn from your stash, and to practice stranded techniques. The size can be easily adjusted by casting on more or less stitches in a multiple of 16. Then, when preparing to shape the crown, decrease to a number of stitches that is a multiple of 10 before starting the first decrease round. The colors and design were inspired by my 6 year old and his love for our 4 legged family members. This pattern requires knowledge of stranded knitting, corrugated ribbing, knitting in the round and K2tog decrease.
