This dinky grey squirrel is gathering acorns for their supper. The tail is knitted in an eyelash yarn to make it extra fluffy!

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the squirrel and acorn are knitted in DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). The acorn stalk is an i-cord tube worked on two DPNs.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.75mm straight single pointed knitting needles (US 5), and a pair of 3.5mm DPNs (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
For squirrel and acorn, Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK (double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic), and for the tail King Cole Moments DK (100% polyester).

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and beads for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The squirrel is 11cm tall. The acorn is 4cm tall (without the stalk).

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
