I was inspired by a Komi design that I saw in Komi Patterned Knitting by Galina Nikolaevna Klimova.

I centered the diamond section of the design on the headband and picked out some pretty colors from my stash for the sample.

When I was done, I realized how much it reminded me of the branches I see in winter by the side of the road. The Red Osier Dogwood grows in little thickets; in the deep winter, their branches are the only hint of color in the landscape.

The yardage given is for the two colors combined. This pattern could easily be made with leftovers from your stash.

The pattern includes several different charts which will fit into the headband.

Size can be adjusted by using a larger or smaller needle.

This pattern was designed for a workshop -- it hasn’t been test knit. Please let me know if you encounter any problems.
