I was inspired by a Komi design that I saw in Komi Patterned Knitting by Galina Nikolaevna Klimova. When I knitted up the design in these autumnal colors of Harrisville Designs, the pattern reminded me of the grasses at the edge of my favorite beach, their dry seed pods above the snow, their hint of green underneath.

The size can be adjusted by using a smaller needle or by using a smaller needle and yarn with more yards per 100 grams. The Harrisville Designs Highland yarn is quite dense.

Please note that I am a loose knitter - the manufacturer suggests a needle size from US 5 to US 7 (3.75 to 4.5mm) to achieve this gauge.

This pattern was designed for a workshop -- it hasn’t been test knit. Please let me know if you encounter any problems.
