I told you I was hooked on Magpie Fibers’ new Nest Worsted. First there was the Michelada hat, then the Gin and Juice cardigan,

and now I’ve got the Dos Equis cowl…

(Named Dos Equis, because XX. Right??)

This yarn just loves a cable. As do I, so it’s kind of a match.

Dos Equis features a beautiful crossed repeat, worked in one direction from cast on to the center point of the cowl, and then worked in the opposite direction from the center point to bind off. The effect is subtle, but the balance of the cables in both direction is worth it.

I love the way the cable panel ends on the left and right sides, so instead of working it around the cowl in one full repeat, I used the cables as a long panel, and inserted a few accent stitches between the beginning and end so the edges would get to be seen.

Notes are in the pattern on modifying for width or length, and the cable charts are both written and charted.

Errata: Row 16 of cable chart has been updated, because the purls were in the wrong columns. A new file has been posted to Ravelry and emails were sent to all buyers, so you can download if needed.
