The pattern is suitable for beginner/intermediate knitters. You’ll need to know how to:

Knit
Purl
Increase ~ knit in back and front loop of stitch (kfb)
Decrease ~ knit two together (k2tog)
Bind off (BO)
Cast on (CO)

After seeing a scarf like this in a magazine and wondering how it was made, I designed this one similarly. It’s knit lengthwise instead of the usual way, and I added a fun, frilly flounce along both edges.

I’ve added a button on one end and buttonhole on the other so that the scarf may be secured around the neck. If you use a decorative or vintage button, it ups the coolness ante.
