What am I missing?
Draco Malfoy Illusion
The Draco Malfoy illusion knit is intended to form the other end of a scarf to the Harry Potter illusion although it could easily be used separately.
The Harry Potter illusion is easily recognisable because of the general shape of the face and the addition of glasses. Draco Malfoy is, unfortunately, not as easy to represent in shadow knitting at this scale.
This project represents a large amount of ripping undone, experiment and alteration to reach this stage but I’m still not as happy with this as I was with my other illusion knits.
The third photograph shows my first attempt at Malfoy, before I made various changes to the hand, the length of the fingers and the bridge of the nose. I decided that the white I had used was a little stark against the green and perhaps grey would be a better choice. This choice was, I think, a mistake and I should have probably continued with the white.
The fourth photograph is of the project completed by BellaG.
The final picture shows the Harry Potter illusion alongside the Draco Malfoy illusion. These are the same size so could form the two ends of the same scarf or two panels of a bedspread.
