Make sure your gauge is approx 2x2 sts in 1cm. I learned from other people’s feedback that almost nobody can get the right gauge with the needle size I use. I would recommend starting with US size 5 or 6.
This pattern mostly uses short rows. There are also some slipped stitches, decreases/increases, and occasional chain cast-ons. There is no stranding, intarsia, or modular knitting at all.
You will need non-splitty fingering yarn in four colors: 100 g of each main (shown dark green or brown) and the color of the “feathers” (shown yellow and aqua), and 50g of each of the other two colors.

Please note that I made some very minor changes to the pattern (to the corners only, to be exact) after knitting the blue shawl. The shape of the shawl in the pattern exactly matches the green prototype.
