Pattern description from Alterknits: “This basic blanket and hat set is made unique by embellishing it with fabric paint. The stamped-on polka-dot pattern shown is super-simple. You might also try stamping a favorite nursery rhyme onto the blanket lining. Once the fabric paint is heat-set, both pieces are machine-washable.

Yarn: Rowan All Seasons Cotton (60% cotton, 40% acrylic; 98 yards/50 grams): 8 skeins. Blanket shown in #192 ice blue.

Needles:

  • One 24” or longer circular (circ) needle size US 5 (3.5 mm).
  • One 24” or longer circ needle size US 7 (4.5 mm)
  • Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Stitch marker, DecoArt SoSoft fabric paint (1 fluid ounce), Plaid (brand) Stencil “Spouncer” sponges (3/4”, 1.25”, and 1.75” - these are 3 round sponges attached to a hand-held dowel). Optional: One round Styrofoam ball for painting Hat, 1 yard 100% cotton flannel for Blanket lining.
