I designed these Early Morning Mitts when I was up late with a bit of insomnia. Since I couldn’t sleep, I got out my yarn and needles and sketchbook. And I finished designing these mitts at a little past 1 o’clock in the morning. I later named my pattern after the crazy-early morning hours when the design was created.

These mitts are interchangeable…that is, they are both made the same and can be worn on either hand.

The pattern for Early Morning Mitts is written to fit most women’s hands, but you can tweak the sizing yourself if need be with your yarn choice and/or needle size used.

I usually cannot make more than 1 pair per skein. Although there is generally a good amount of yarn left over for other small projects, I recommend buying 1 skein (of any of the suggested yarns) per pair of mitts you plan to knit to be sure you have enough yarn.
