This easy lace hat is knit with worsted weight yarn, which gives you lots of yarn choices.
It starts with the bottom ribbed edge, which flows beautifully into the easy leaf lace pattern. The lace pattern is easy enough for new knitters, and interesting enough for the more experienced lace knitter. I recommend using stitch markers and lifelines!
The lace pattern ends before the top shaping begins - minimizing frustration for the knitter.
Recommended needles are: 16” circular, size 6 ( for the ribbing ), 16” circular, size 8 ( for the body ), and double pointed size 8 ( for top shaping ).
Pattern includes 4 sizes: 13”, 15”, 17”, and 19” finished circumference. Finished hat has a bit of stretch, so I recommend choosing the size approximately 1-2” less than actual head circumference.
This is such a fun knit, you’ll want to make one for everyone on your gift list!
