This classic cabled, v-neck vest starts with a wide rib at
the hem that moves organically into the cable pattern.
The cable is then worked continuously to armholes. At
the armholes, the body is separated into front and back
and the armhole and collar trims are worked after the
shoulders have been joined.

  • SIZE & SKILL LEVEL Finished chest circumference - 26¼ (28¼, 30, 31¾, 33¾) in / 66.5 (72, 76, 80.5, 85.5) cm. To fit sizes 4-6 (8, 10, 12, 14). Shown in size 12. Intermediate difficulty - Knit, purl, cables, working in the round, decreases and picking up stitches.
  • MATERIALS AND NOTIONS 3 (3, 3, 3, 4) skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted (100% superwash merino wool; 113g / 225 yds / 205 m); Pewter. Substitute with approximately 540 (580, 620, 650, 700) yds / 490 (520, 560, 590, 630) m of Worsted weight yarn that knits to the specified gauge. 4.5 mm (US 7) double-pointed needles and 24in / 60cm long circular needles. 5 mm (US8) 24in / 60cm long circular needles. Always adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge. Stitch markers, stitch holders, cable needle, and tapestry needle.
  • GAUGE 24 sts = 3¾ in / 9.5 cm wide and 24 rnds / rows = 3½ in / 9 cm tall in Cable patt using larger needles.
