This is my favourite type of colour work as it looks so complicated yet is so simple and easy to knit. If you can knit and purl you can knit this tank top. It’s really tricky to write about this Emmen Tank Top because I love it so much which means that’s all I want to write, I just love it and I hope you knit it and love it too! Therefore I am finding it difficult to be unbiased and write about the pattern. OK….let’s see…it is knitted in pieces. I enjoy knitting in pieces because I feel seams give a garment structure. When designing my garments I always think of the seams and joining the garment together, if knitted it pieces, and with this one you’ll find I adjusted the pattern so that when you use the mattress stitch to sew it up the stitch pattern isn’t interrupted and it looks like it is knitted in the round. I love designing little details like this.
I used two shades in the original design but I am looking forward to knitting one in stripes with lots of colours!

** 3(4:4:5:5:6) 50g balls of Mohair Tweed (70% merino/30% mohair, 110m/120yds per 50g) in shade A
2(2:2:3:3:3) 50g balls in shade B and
1(1:2:2:2:2) 50 g balls in shade C
