I needed a nice rectangular evening wrap to go with my party frock for my DH’s Xmas Party. I needed it quick – so this is what I came up with. The stitchwork I used is based on two traditional Estonian patterns patterns knitted in a rectangular format in two pieces and grafted together.

I used my So Soft Sock here – a wonderful mix of 50% alpaca, 20% Silk and 30% Merino, kettle dyed into a wonderful “chocolately” colour to suit my dress.

This pattern is suitable for all sockweight/fingering yarns but it is also versatile, any weight of yarn could be used by adjusting the quantities of yarn required and maybe using differing needle sizes to suit your requirements.

ERRATa: 6/11/2012 An updated version of this pattern is now available however this pattern has not been test knitted and is offered free on this basis. If you do make it please let menow of any further errors.
