Pattern Description from Cast On, November 2013 - January 2014: The focal point of this vest is the bottom ribbing in an Estonian pattern I learned from Nancy Bush. It is called Slanted Rib - or “False Entrelac” - and is often used for mitten cuffs. It is best knit in the round. Therefore, employing a provisional cast on to start above the ribbing, this vest is begun bottom up in two pieces (front and back) and knit flat. The provisional stitches are then picked up, the two pieces joined in the round, and the Slanted Rib is knit in the round downward, finishing with a two stitch I-cord bind off.

While this pattern is offered in one size only, the concept is easily adapted to any size.
