Normally docile, badgers can become aggressive and ferocious when cornered, making it dangerous for predators to target them.

European Badger has stripes on her head that are knit with intarsia; work then proceeds into the chest and front legs. Stitches are picked up behind these sections and joined in the round to work the body.

The finished badger is about 14” from nose to tail, and is about 6” wide.

Learn more about this wonderful animal and 24 others when you read the pages of a naturalist as she travels the world, documenting the animals she sees, and designing knitting patterns for each one. This book was a collaboration with my children who did the artwork.
