This dress is knit from the bottom up with seed stitch bands at the bottom, waist and top of the dress. The waist is decreased using an interesting method that reminds me of pin tucks in sewing. Ribbon is used for straps that tie at the shoulder.

I made this pattern with the hope that it would last two seasons. The first season as a dress with a regular waist and the ribbons tied in bows and the second season as a long top with an empire waist and the ribbons tied in knots.
