From Zoe Mellor’s notes: “These traditional fair isle knits with their scalloped lacy edgings on the hem are perfect for little girls. The cardigan has a practical moss-stitch collar and is finished with mother-of-pearl buttons.”

Back, front, drop shoulder sleeves, and lacy edging are knitted separately. The neckband for the sweater, and both the collar and the button bands on the cardigan are picked up and knitted after seaming.
