This pattern was developed in an attempt to maximize the style per yard from a single skein of chunky hand-painted yarn that I received as a gift. It knits up quickly on large needles, making it an excellent last-minute gift as well as a great way to show off a special hand-painted yarn. The use of linen stitch to showcase a multicolored yarn was inspired by Kirsten Kapur’s Chickadee Cowl, and the buttoned scarflet structure was inspired by Robin Dodge’s Fidget, hence the name.

Skills needed: Long-tail cast-on, knit, purl, yo, ssk, sewing on a button.

Please note that this pattern has not been test-knit. If you encounter any issues, please do not hesitate to send me a note on Ravelry. I appreciate feedback, and will try to respond to any concerns in a timely fashion, however I currently work pretty crazy hours at my “real job”, so please excuse me if I am slow to respond!
