A feast for the eyes! When winter is white, there should be colour and lots of it. A bit of flair with ruffles and ribbing creates this extra special scarf. This design was created in memory of Marlene Suitor, a fellow guild member who loved the theatre. Yarn and needles were kindly donated by her family. The original scarf has been donated to Windmill Theatre Company for silent action in her honour.

Colour continuity when using self-striping yarn: Rather than making 2 of the second ruffle, I elected to postpone its construction until I was close to the end of the ball. Create the second ruffle using the end tail of the ball, attach to first ruffle and leave live stitches on a holder. Then finish the ball constructing the scarf ribbing. Kitchener stitch the 2 ruffle set to the ribbing. By doing so, colour continuity is maintained.
