I am reworking this shawl to be a shawlette, so bear with me.
I designed this shawl for Pieheart. She needed a shawl for a group of knitters who wanted to try their first lace project. I needed to make a shawl for my dear cousin Carol, so I did both.
I call this “First Shawl” for 3 reasons. It can be a first for someone who has never knit a shawl, a first for someone who has never knitted lace, and a first for someone who has never used beads in knitting.
I am very pleased with how it turned out. I used a sock weight yarn, my favorite, Jojoland Melody. I used a fairly large needle, size 8. I used size 6 beads, 30 grams, approximately 500.
Please feel free to contact me for use in a beginner lace class or bead knitting class.
