This poncho is a simple version of my River Ripples poncho. Instead of cables and dropped stitches within the cables, only knit and purl stitches are worked to create a lacy look.
So if you know how to work stockinette stitch, you can make this poncho! This pattern uses knit through the back loop (k-tbl) and purl through the back loop (p-tbl) stitches. These may be new stitches for you, but you will pick them up quickly.
While working the poncho, the fabric will look like rib stitch, and you won’t see the lace. Have faith! The lace will appear after you have bound off all the stitches at the end.
