Yumiko Alexander

My name is Yumiko Alexander. I am a designer of a line of Knitting and Crochet patterns, marketed and published under the business name “暖土DanDoh”, located in Chandler, Arizona.

I was born in Japan and I have been selling my original knitted and crocheted designs in Japan. When I moved to the United States, I started a design company, DanDoh (暖土), which means “Warm(Dan 暖) Earth(Doh 土)”.

I love creating knitted and crocheted fabric. I have always enjoyed exploring the combinations of the yarn texture and stitch patterns. I attempt to keep the shape of garments simple enough to enjoy and show the interesting fabric that can be made by hand.

My design ideas come from what I want to wear. My handmade pieces are both functional and fashionable.
