Description: Soft textured scarf, perfect for those eager to explore cabling without a huge investment in yarn. Simple stitch manipulation gives the look of cables without using as much yarn as traditional cables. Pattern moves from densely clustered bird-like motifs to motif evocative of birds in flight, finishing with original clustered bird pattern. 10-row garter edging on each end and 3-stitch garter stitch border. Both pattern stitches involve manipulating stitches, which can be done with cable needle or can be accomplished without a cable needle, for those eager to practice this technique. Pattern stitches look complex but are easily executed and can be easily memorized, making this pattern perfect for the newish knitter looking to go beyond stocking stitch. Pattern offers enough interest to keep the accomplished knitter entertained as well.
