Simple stocking stitch socks – with a few twists: sole-hugging arch shaping and a slightly unusual short row heel.
Two versions are given: striped and monochrome (or one-yarn, anyway).

Please note that the heel is quite fitted, rather smaller than with the gusset & heel flap construction.

The socks are meant to be worn with negative ease to fit without bunching.

Skills required:
knit, purl, k2tog, ssk improved, m1R, m1L, wrap&turn (all explained in notes).

Sizes:
XS (S) M (L) XL
To fit foot circumferences, measured at the widest part of the foot below the toes, of:
20.5 (21.5) 22.5 (23.5) 24.5 cm
8 (8.5) 8.75 (9.25) 9.5 in (appx)

Finished circumference, unstretched:
17.5 (18.7) 20 (21.3) 22.5 cm
7 (7.25) 8 (8.5) 8.75 in (appx)

For the striped version, you need appx. 25 – 50 g (105 – 210 m / 115 – 230 yds) each of two colours (if you reverse MC and CC for the two socks, you will need equal amounts; otherwise, the MC will take a bit more).

Many thanks to Suuf for beta knitting!
