These socks are knit from the toe-up and feature a twisted stitch pattern on the front that shows off variegated yarns perfectly and brings to mind the tree roots and stumps that make the Forbidden Forest so mysterious and tricky to navigate. The stitch itself is easy to execute, and once you get into the rhythm of the pattern it becomes intuitive. The back of the leg is knit in a weaving rib pattern that mimics the shapes of the trees within the dense forest and allows for extra stretch over your calves. I have included a short-row heel of my own design, but you can substitute a Fish Lips Kiss Heel or another short-row heel of your choosing.

The sample socks are knit in The Burrow colorway in the M/L size and used about 75 grams, but your yardage will vary depending on your gauge.
