The Voodoo Socks are based off of legends of Marie Laveau. She was widely known as a voodoo priestess and even today, there is an urban legend that if you draw three X’s on her tomb, turn around, and knock, she will fulfill your wish. This is illegal now, so don’t try it if you come to New Orleans. But if you make these toe-up socks featuring sets of cabled X’s, she may just grant your wish!

These socks are knit from the toe up and the pattern includes two different sizes and both short and tall versions. It also features an easy-to-memorize cable along the outside of the foot. A cable needle can be used if needed, but the cable is so small it can easily be done without one. This pattern would be a great introduction to knitting socks toe-up!
