After the deep cold of winter, comes the thaw. It is an energizing time where everyone, and everything, begins to shake off the dormancy of winter. This hat is inspired by the waning days of winter. For when spring hasn’t quite sprung; for the days of icicles, fragrant trees, and the winter coat seems optional, yet remains advisable.

Using an effective two row repeat worked to a slouch that makes you happy, this hat will keep you warm while allowing the warmer air to move through. It is perfect for climbing out of hibernation and out on a path with a friend for a vitamin D rich stroll.

Ysolda Teague has written an excellent post about this practice. You can check it out here:

-- FYI: Once you have rounded up your tools, you’re only going to need page two to knit the hat - the pattern itself is all there. If you’re printing a copy, you can save some bulk in your project bag, and just print page two.

THIS PATTERN HAS BEEN TECH EDITED AND TESTED.
