Gameday Scarf is double-knitted for warmth and reversibility. The pdf includes both the pattern and a tutorial which will introduce you to double knitting, with an explanation of how to read chart patterns and adapt them to double knitting.

Pattern calls for US size 8 needles and aran weight yarn, but using smaller needles or thinner yarn would yield a scarf for a smaller or younger person. You could also omit a paw print and a set of stripes to make your scarf shorter.

For the scarf pictured, I used about 3/4 skein of blue and about 3/4 skein of orange, around 280 yards each.

I knitted this scarf for my friend, Laura, who is obsessed with the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
