These cute hats can be a good way to use up some of those remnants of DK weight yarn most knitters have around, and the resulting hats are nice and warm, thanks to being double-knitted. The hats are not reversible. The inside of the hats are striped in plain stockinette stitch.
The pattern includes 3 hat sizes. The Adult-sized hat has a circumference (unstretched) of 50 cm, and should fit most adults. The child-sized hat has a circumference of 42 cm, and the toddler-sized hat has a circumference of 34 cm.
I have included an illustrated tutorial of the special stitches (flower stitch) used in this pattern, as well as links to double-knitting resources, for those who are not familiar with the technique.
I have not included instructions for making a yarn flower such as the toddler-sized hat sports. The yarn flower was made using flower loom, and the yardage for this is not included in the yardage for the toddler hat.

Yarn: Any DK weight yarn is suitable for these hats. I have used a mix of different yarns, all of the same weight and all 100% wool.
Amounts used (the numbers used are approximate):
For Adult size: MC (White) 98 meters, CC1 (mint) 58 meters, CC2 (teal) 72 meters.
For Child size: MC (Dark green) 89 meters, CC1 (red) 75 meters, CC2 (white) 71 meters.
For Toddler size: MC (Dark grey) 88 meters, CC1 (green) 70 meters, CC2 (pale pink) 64 meters. A small amount in addition will be needed for a yarn flower if this is desired.
