Lairë is the Quenya name for the season of summer, the 72 days between June 1 and August 11. The Sindarin word for the season is Laer.
What is more summery than butterflies flitting over a field of flowers? This is the theme of this scarf, and will be a sweet memory of the warmer season when the snow flies.

This scarf has been knitted in Drops Delight in colorways 12 Rainbow and 16 Green blue print, using two skeins of each colorway. The scarf can also be knitted in any other fingering weight yarn.

This pattern features double-knitted lace, as well as double-knitted cables. It is recommended that the knitter has experience with double-knitting before trying this pattern.

I have included an illustrated guide to the special stitches used in this pattern.
