This is a cuff-to-toe sock pattern. The socks are knit at a firm gauge to achieve sporty socks that work well with physical activity. The design is intended to be worn with boots, clogs or sneakers, not with loafers or other close fitting shoes. Prior sock knitting experience would be helpful.

One size is given. The circumference is about 7.86 inches and is stretchy. So far, it fits a Woman’s US size 6.5 to a 8.5 average foot. The length is determined by the knitter, though suggested lengths are given. Both DK and Sport weight achieve a very similar result knit at this tight gage.

The garter rib is stretchy, so it naturally accommodates various calf widths.

Experienced knitters will be able to customize the size by changing yarn and needle size or by adding or subtracting to the cast-on number.

This basic design is simple, practical and quick to knit.
