This is a beautiful and simple pattern to showcase an artisan sock yarn. It begins with an easy lace pattern at the cast on edge, and follows through the rest of the way in stockinette.

It was written with my Hobbit colorway, The Gathering of the Clouds, in mind. It begins with “Hobbit Holes” along the cast on edge, symbolizing Bilbo’s journey from The Shire to the Mountains (where the clouds gathered..). It is not only meant for the Hobbity folk though, anyone who loves a warm and cozy mitt to keep their hands and wrists warm should join in and knit!

The project can be done in a weekend, making this a great quick project for yourself, or a gift.

The pattern as written, has specific lengths to knit, but you can make this as long, or as short as you’d like.

Please, please use whatever needle you need to obtain gauge! I knit loosely, so I used a 0. If you knit tightly, you can very well end up using a 1 or a 2 instead.
