This pattern was designed with self-striping in mind, but is also excellent to break up those wildly pooling sock yarns!

“Geruit” means “checkered” or “gingham” in Dutch. The pattern came from my desire to play a bit more with self-striping yarns, to be able to highlight a favourite colour and just generally knit something other than a straight stockinette or ribbed sock out of my self-striping yarns.

Geruit carries one or more colours along as you knit, creating distinct squares on the leg. The pattern is hinted at in the more stretchy and straight-forward pattern on the foot.

A padded Dutch heel and padded toe make these socks not just pretty, but also hard-wearing, no matter where you go!

The pattern is available in three size circumferences (fitting women’s small, women’s large and men’s small), with the foot and leg lengths adjustable to your liking.
