The Giles bag was inspired by the master of super sized cables, Giles Deacon. It uses 3 strands of Rowan Little Big Wool to create a fabric with individual stitches of half an inch in height, so not surprisingly this bag knits up incredibly quickly.

Materials required are as follows:

67% wool/33% nylon (50gm—66 yards / 60 metres approx)
6 x 50gm balls shade 508
Amber - Main colour (M)
3 x 50gm balls shade 513
Rock - Contrast colour (C)
1 pair 15mm (US #19) needles
1 pair 10mm (US #15) needles
Cable needle

***** yarn is used trebled for bag front and back and doubled for strap *****
